Good morning!
Pigs arrive Monday afternoon at the farm! If you ordered a pig from the chapter, please make sure to have your payment with you in order to pick up your pig. If you are raising your hog on campus, you must have your pen ready by the time they arrive. See Mr. Brinkley (Monday) if you haven't set up your pen yet. If you are taking yours home, please be ready to haul at that time.
Reminder that you need a prop 12 certificate from your breeder in order to sell your hog at the fair. YQCA needs to be completed as well. Please submit a copy of all certificates to Mrs. Plew to get them checked off your Requirements List.
Also, it is your responsibility (all species) to make arrangements to have your animals weighed. Mrs Plew is currently scheduling project visits as we are receiving the animals. You are required to have 3 project visits before fair. If you are interested in purchasing quality feed at a reduced price from the chapter, also reach out.
This is a busy and exciting time of year! We are fixing on having an awesome fair! GO WOLVES!!!!!
For the March teacher of the month, is my pleasure to spotlight and celebrate the hard work and dedication of Dr. Monica Young Zook! Dr. Zook has taken on many tasks and cares for our students. Here are a few ways she has earned teacher of the month:
- Classroom Innovation: With a big heart for students, Mrs. Zook infuses warmth into classroom innovation, creating a nurturing environment where students feel cared for while experiencing engaging and creative teaching methods.
- Student Accountability:
Beyond fostering a sense of responsibility, Mrs. Zook takes care of disciplinary matters promptly within the classroom, ensuring a supportive atmosphere where students can grow both academically and behaviorally.
- Literary Focus Nights:
Elevating literary events with compassion, Mrs. Zook not only sparks interest but also advocates for students to have their own books of interest, promoting a personalized and enriching reading experience that reflects a genuine care for their individual preferences.
- Several Committees:
Remarkably, Mrs. Zook serves on nine different committees voluntarily, demonstrating an unwavering commitment to school improvement. Despite being asked to consider doing less, the response is consistently, "I've got this," even without a prep block.
- WASC Credentialing Process:
Taking a leadership role with heart, Mrs. Zook guides the school through the WASC credentialing process, organizing groups and ensuring a smooth accreditation journey for the entire school community.
Thank you for all that you do Mrs. Zook!!
The SCL bestowed a huge honor from our league peers on our very own super co-coaches Caitlin Montgomery and Tori Geist as Coaches of the Year! This honor is almost unheard of for rookie coaches. We are all so proud of Caitlin, Tori and the entire girls varsity team for everything they represent. Everyone from Trinity County and beyond fell in love with this team for the way they play the game. Congratulations to our very deserving Coaches of the Year!!
Dear Parents, Guardians, and THS High School Community, Our Accreditation visit from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) is coming up and will be held from March 10th -13th. During that time, our accreditation team will be on campus watching us teach, looking at student work, observing our students, and visiting our classes. Primarily, they will want to examine our self-study goals and determine a) if they will address the most pressing student needs, and b) if not, help us to align those with real need. The WASC visitors have asked specifically if they might meet with our parents, guardians, and community members whose dedication to the school, the students, and their continued success has made Trinity High School the fine place that it is. We would like to invite you to a meeting (with pizza and refreshments) on Tuesday, March 12th, from 4:30 to 5:30 to meet with our visitors, share with them your knowledge of the school and its programs, discuss its strengths and attempts to suit our programs to the students who use them, and address and areas for improvement. If you have any questions about the meeting, please feel free to call us at 530-623-6170, extension 2206, or write our WASC Coordinator at myoungzook@tausd.org. Sincerely, Dr. Corey Helgesen, Principal Trinity High School
